It’s February Vacation week in Massachusetts. Five school-free days in the middle of winter. Joy. The rest of the US school population only gets President’s Day off from school. But not New England. Our kids get an entire week off. The cynic in me believes this opportune closure is to bolster the local ski economy. Unfortunately for us, we don’t ski. Or at least, we don’t do it very well. And the poor Vachette, with a minor finger fracture, is in no state to learn. Again, joy.
I don’t mean to sound like a spoilsport. I normally see school breaks as prime opportunities for travel, but I have not been on my A game lately, and thus, we do not have any fabulous travel plans. I need to start brainstorming some fun activities to keep the Vachette and me from going stir crazy. Wish me luck.
Mr. Mad Cow, I’m sure, will be perfectly happy to work the week away.
