Now that the Vachette is a bonafide incoming Kindergartener, she is going to start her summer with a grand tour: 5 weeks, 4 destinations, 3 countries, and two crazy parents. Quelle cosmopolite!
First stop, Boston’s Logan airport. The Vachette is a travel pro. She knows the whole drill. For the most part, she stays put in the line while we wait to check out bags (and we always check a bag when traveling with her). And she’s really good at security. She listens to both us and the TSA officers, and answers with her name when asked. This time around she was about as cute as cute could be as she put her purse and backpack into a plastic bin and pushed through the scanner. Then she held my hand as we walked through the Xray machine. And she happily said thank you to the TSA officer who gave her a TSA security badge sticker. Maybe everyone would be less disgruntled if TSA handed out stickers to everyone.
Many of the gates at Logan have access to Kidport playgrounds. So we always allow for extra playtime when leaving for the airport.
Unfortunately, since we are flying indirect through Toronto, we are are the Air Canada gates which have no access to a playground. The Vachette weathered this unexpected change of plan well and is currently watching a movie on a tablet. May she continue to be this adaptable for the next five weeks!
