US cities compared to European countries on an economic scale

This comparison of US cities’ metro economies to European is really interesting. It is supposed to help illustrate why Spain, whose economy is about the size to the NYC metro area, is such a problem for the euro zone.

On a side note, the above graph has Switzerland’s economy smaller than Los Angeles but greater than San Francisco. And Greece’s economy is smaller than the Boston metro area.
