The SVP (Schweizerische Volkspartei, or Swiss People’s Party) is notorious for its right wing initiatives accompanied with horrific posters. First came the infamous black sheep ad:
Then came the equally controversial passport-grab ad:
Google image searches sure are great when you are trying to find copies of unfortunate political campaigns. Every time I thought about going out to snap one of these pictures on my own while out and about in Zuri, I usually found ads that were defaced (and rightfully so) by graffiti.
This time around, however, it has been fairly easy to find pristine copies of their latest offensive poster. This picture was taken by Niko in Zurich’s Main Station over the weekend:
Their latest initiative is for a ban on building minarets on mosques. And you know Switzerland does not look so hot in the international press if time.com features a story about the SVP’s anti-minaret initiative .
